Better known as a Christmas or New Year’s tradition, or as a distant childhood farmhouse memory, you can now enjoy goose on your dinner table year round. Goose is great as a hearty winter meal or fine dining cuisine.
Goose is tasty and texturally rich, has many different uses and can substitute turkey in most recipes.
It is darker, full bodied and intensely flavoured. Unlike turkey, it can be served without a sauce as it is succulent and moist. However, it works well with fruit stuffing or chutneys.
Why should we eat it?
It is low in sodium and has no sugar, but is high in protein, iron, phosphorous and selenium.
